September was an incredible month for our community! From kicking off our second Introductory Fellowship to hosting a dynamic workshop run by a world-famous animal advocate, the energy was palpable. We reached for impact and celebrated a huge milestone for one of our own.

This month, we wanted to celebrate the incredible work of our long-time member and co-founder of EA Barcelona, Pablo Rosado.
As many of you know, Pablo has a Youtube channel called Altrufísica where he combines science outreach with altruism to generate even more positive impact outside of his already impactful job at Our World In Data.
We’re bringing Pablo to your attention because he just finished creating his most challenging video yet, and it's an absolute must-watch. It tackles one of the most common and controversial questions posed by animal welfare sceptics: "Do farm animals really live that badly?"

What a boost for the animal advocacy movement in Barcelona! Our workshop with Dr. Melanie Joy at the beautiful Heura House was a powerful morning of open, honest conversation. We walked away with practical tools to build a stronger, more effective movement, and our hearts are full from the sense of community and vulnerability in the room. 🤖 A Deep Dive into Generative AI at 42 Barcelona
AI Safety Barcelona hosted a special and insightful talk at the innovative 42 Barcelona campus. The session explored Generative AI, covering how state-of-the-art models are built and the complex risks they pose.
The event even featured live jailbreaking demos, giving attendees a hands-on look at the technology's vulnerabilities and strengths. A big thank you to the AI Safety BCN team for organizing and to everyone who came and participated!

Finally, 13 of us gathered for a relaxed Saturday of spikeball, food, and conversations ranging from plant-based defaults at TEDx to how to make data more accessible. We also got to enjoy a spontaneous acoustic performance from Guillem Lajara 🎶
