This month, we're celebrating Martin Lange, a familiar face to many in our community! Now back in Germany, Martin recently won the prestigious Best Computer Science Graduate 24/25 award at Karlsruhe.
Instead of keeping the prize, Martin chose to turn his achievement directly into impact. He donated the full โฌ3,000 prize money to Effektiv Spenden's Animal Welfare Fund, a fund dedicated to supporting the most effective animal advocacy organizations.
In his own words, Martin highlighted that this cause is often one of the most neglected. He explained, "The majority of farm animals suffer in factory farming, where conditions are particularly terrible. You don't have to be an animal lover to count this among the biggest problems of our time." By funding organizations like Sinergia Animal, his donation helps drive corporate campaigns for cage-free eggs and reduce suffering on a massive scale.

Coworking at Sopa & Sandwichez โ๏ธ
August was quiet on events, except for two cozy coworking sessions at SandwiChez and SOPA Barcelona. These turned into mini-labs: from refining tools for sustainable food systems, exploring anti-tobacco advocacy through the Moral Ambition network, a volunteer analyzing data for a mental-health org, or fine-tuning new projects, it's where ideas turn into impact!
